Designer Games from Zontik
Face it: the gaming world is full of manufactured plastic bits and cheap cardboard spewed from giant factory lines. We understand why it must be, and we’re OK with it. Bbut sometimes we want to wrap your hand around something that smacks of quality. Zontik is a company that aims to fill that niche.
Everything that comes from Zontik is hand-made, and custom crafted based on your designs. Frames are constructed of solid wood, stained, and then wrapped in Dauphin calf leather. Call us suckers, but we're pretty that anything with word "Dauphin" in it means it's 110% classy. Put on your smoking jacket and get ready for some very civilized gaming.
Here's the official word on their website:
”Zontik Games is renowned throughout the world as the premier source of luxury board games and other fine gaming products. Custom crafted from the finest quality leathers, fabrics, and other materials, our games have captivated and fascinated our clientele for many years. We now bring our unique and exclusive products to you on our website. — Roman Abramovsky, President, Zontik Games”
Zontik’s current lineup includes classics like Chess and Backgammon, Parlor games like Rubiks cube, and outdoor lawn games. Our favorite summertime picnic pastime Boule is there, too. Supporting pieces and pegs are nickel plated , or made of silver, or are Bridal Hide leather pieces like these Scrabble tokens.
\All of this craftsmanship pushes the titles to be a bit on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. These things would make fantastic life-long gifts for any die hard gamer... if anyone wants to shower us with gifts then now you know where to get 'em.
The whole catalog culminates in the Zontik Game Cube, which houses 24 games including: Cribbage, Bridge, Poker, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, and fringe games like Tiddly Winks, baby Boule and Tic Tac Toe. We picture the cube being lit by fireplace in a private library, sitting between a pair of dark leather chairs and serving as the gaming den’s centerpiece. With custom stained exterior and hand set wood, it’s quite dreamy, especially considering its price tag alone makes it a status symbol.
